Get Involved
Overview
MS-SOS has many ways you can become involved with our league. From skating opportunities to business partnerships to Non-Skating Officials (NSO’s). Just ask how and we’ll get you involved. Read some of the brief descriptions below.
Skaters
Want to be a derby girl? Want to feel empowered and part of a real womens team? MS-SOS is always looking for new skaters to join us.
You may be thinking “I can’t roller skate” but we are here to tell you “YES. You can!!” No skating experience is required. All you have to do is come with passion and commitment. We’ll help you with the rest.
Contact our Training Team for more information.
Referees
Join our Zebra herd. MS-SOS is recruiting people who want to ref and make sure we stay on track with the WFTDA rule set. No skating experience is required but you will need to learn.
Our Zebra’s must learn the signals and calls in accordance with the WFTDA guidelines.
If you’d like to become a Zebra for MS-SOS, email our Training team.
NSO’s
A NSO (non-skating official) helps the league when we have bouts, fundraisers, or other promotional events. Some “jobs” involve penalty timer, selling our merchandise, and selling tickets at the door. Derby knowledge is a plus but we will help anyone learn the ropes.
If you’d like to volunteer some time as a NSO, let us know! We’ll find a spot for you.
Fans
Fans! Fans! Fans! We love you. You are such an important part of MS-SOS. Join us at our bouts, fundraisers, and other opportunities. Keep up to date with us by following us on Twitter or Facebook.
Want to Skate With MS-SOS?
We’d love to! MS-SOS is excited about skating with all skill level leagues including mixers. Contact our Bout Production committee and we’ll work with your team to find a date that works for everyone.
Sponsors and Media/Press
MS-SOS is constantly on the look out for businesses to roll with and interviews to complete. We also love getting our pictures taken. If you would like to become an official sponsor of MS-SOS derby league contact or set up an interview, contact our Public Relations director.
